The Samsung S3653 Corby is a cool little trendy device that was specifically designed for the tech and social networked youngsters of gen “Y”. Not only is this phone incredibly good looking, it has everything you could possibly need to keep in touch with your friends wherever you are.

Offering one touch connection to a wide range of social networks such as Facebook, Twitter , MySpace and Flickr, owning a Samsung S3650 will ensure you are always up to date with the latest gossip.

The entire phone is about the size of a credit card, so you will have no problem fitting it in your pocket. The display is a pretty good size, 2.8", which covers the entire front side of the device. The 240x320 pixel screen is plenty big enough for viewing pictures, videos, and websites. This is about the same size as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and the Apple iPhone. Despite the fairly large screen, the phone is quite lightweight, at about 93 grams.

One neat feature of the Corby is the removable back cover. Samsung calls these interchangeable back covers "fashion jackets", and if you are the type of person who likes their phone to be a fashion statement as well as a functional device, you will love these. 2 extra back panels are included in the box, so you can immediately begin customizing this phone at no additional cost.

While phones such as the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and iPhone include a 3+ Megapixel camera, the Colby includes a 2 Megapixel camera. Not quite as good, but it allows you to take photos of friends and places in a snap, and upload them to your favourite social media website. This is one area where the Corby shines. This phone easily integrates with popular social media websites like YouTube, Facebook, Myspace and Flickr via a set of built in widgets.

It seems many companies are coming out with touchscreen smart phones to challenge established players in the niche such as Apple's iPhone. One thing that many competitors have been unable to match is Apple's attractive and intuitive user interface. Of all the devices I've seen, the Samsung S3653 Corby comes the closest.

The interface of the Samsung S3653 Corby really stands out from the crowd. The fonts are super fun, and the backgrounds have an upbeat look to them and can be easily customized depending on your mood. The fonts, icons and graphics are really cartoonish (not in a bad way), which you need to see to appreciate.

Another neat innovation of the Corby is the “Smart Unlock” feature which allows you to unlock the phone and enter the menu directly by drawing a letter on the screen. This feature is taken even further by allowing specific menu options to be set to correspond to a letter from A to I - like I for Internet.

The built in MP3 player is everything you'd expect, complete with the fun icons you'll come to love from the Samsung S3650 Corby. This phone also includes an FM radio player for times when you have grown bored with your own collection of music.

Gen “Y” loves to talk a lot and this is another area where the Corby is superior to most of its competition. The robust 960 mAh lithium ion battery provides up to 9 hours of talk time, and 30 days of standby time. This is an advantage of the exclusion of 3G: slower upload and download times, but a vastly improved battery time. For comparison, the iPhone only advertises 13 days of standby time and 5 hours of talk time.

The Samsung Corby is a joy to use, for people who want a fun, attractive phone that integrates well with social media and has a long battery life, this phone is highly recommended.
