Sony Ericsson W705 Multimedia Review Video

The W705 is a great Music player, you can organize play lists, sort music according to album, artist and or play frequency. Other great features include the Sony trademarked Shake Control which allows you to adjust the volume, skip and scan through songs by a simple flick of the phone. As expected from the Sony Walkman range the audio quality of the media player is outstanding, unfortunately however Sony has not incorporated a 3.5mm headphone socket but thankfully the W705 comes with a 2 part headset lead that does accommodate a 3.5 jack on one end.

To store all your favourite songs the W705 comes equipped with 120 Mb of internal memory as well as a 4 GB M2 card for the real die hard music fan that wants some serious music storage.

In terms of video the W705 comes equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera but it has to be said that it takes a back seat to the music player. The images produced lack detail and sharpness, you might be able to produce a nice looking picture in good lighting conditions but indoors or at night you will be hard pressed. Interface wise the Camera application seems to be a simplified version of the Cybershot utilities it gets the job done but don’t expect any fancy editing tools.

The addition of Wi-Fi connectivity helps take the handset above the average line, allowing easy access to Sony’s Play Now service , and allowing you to take full advantage of the standalone YouTube video player. Web downloads are fast, although transferring music or video files to the memory card or to a computer is a process that will test your patience at times as it require each file to be sent individually and accepted individually on the other end . Uploading photos to Facebook or other social networks however was very fast and the overall web connectivity on the device is above average.
