Sony Ericsson Satio Video Review - Multimedia

The Satio uses the fifth edition Symbian S60 mobile operating system, providing a power-packed foundation for the phone’s User Interface. Sony has done a first rate job with the UI, taking the standard Sony User Interface that we have come to love in the last 5 years and tweaking it ever so slightly to take full advantage of the 3.5 inch touch display. The main home screen is slick and glossy with large attractive icons, providing quick access to 5 custom tab screens including a favourite contacts page, a Web sites/feeds page, picture/video page, shortcut page and of course a tab to navigate back to the welcome screen.

For the Social network socialite, the Satio is a great phone to keep informed & in contact at all times. Not only does the handset offer a Facebook application for quick and pain-free access, but it also offers apps for YouTube and Myspace. Media files are handled exceptionally well by the native media control interface. All media files are categorised into photo, music or video and can be easily accessed by selecting the media icon from any of the main menus. Once you arrive at this level, navigation is a breeze. For instance in the picture menu; tapping on a small picture icon activates the full screen version of the selected image and browsing is achieved by simply swiping either left or right on the screen.
